Where does the pop up timer go in a turkey?

A pop-up timer is not placed inside the turkey. It sits in a hole in the cavity of the turkey’s breast in the upper, meatiest part of the breast, but not touching bone or fat and away from the stuffing if the bird is stuffed. This can be measured with either an instant read or regular meat thermometer.
