When was Sparrow created?

The Sparrow mail client was originally developed by Steve Jobs and his company NeXT in 1998, and was released as part of the NeXT environment. In 2004, Sparrow was acquired by Google and renamed to Gmail Draft, and eventually rebranded as Inbox by Gmail.
