Does hummingbird nectar have to be boiled?

No, hummingbird nectar does not need to be boiled. Boiling the nectar can actually destroy some of the nutrients that hummingbirds need. Instead, it is best to mix one part sugar with four parts water and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can then serve the nectar to hummingbirds in a clean feeder.
