How do cockatoos nest?

Cockatoos typically nest in tree hollows, which they either find naturally or excavate themselves. They nest in pairs and the nests are often lined with soft materials such as leaves, bark and feathers. The female will lay between one and four eggs and both parents will take turns incubating the eggs and feeding the young, which hatch after about 28-30 days.
