Why do geese stomp?

Geese stomp to establish dominance and territory. When a goose stamps its foot, it is showing that it is the boss and that it is willing to fight to protect its turf. Geese also stomp to communicate with other geese. For example, a goose may stomp to let other geese know that it has found a good food source.
