Why are roller birds called rollers?

Rollers are not called rollers because they roll. In fact, they do not roll over even once in their entire life. They are called rollers because they show aerial acrobatics. Rollers are known to perform mid-air rolls, twists, and dives, and these aerial displays are performed during courtship or territorial disputes.
