How do you tell the difference between a boy and girl Scaly breasted lorikeets?

There is no visible difference between male and female scaly-breasted lorikeets. Some subspecies display plumage dimorphism but not the ones found commonly in aviculture such as the Northern Scaly-breasted Lorikeets (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus).
