What color is a eider duck?

The male Common Eider is unmistakable with its black and white coloration and bright green nape patch during the breeding season. In non-breeding season, the male looks similar to the female, dark-brown but with some white feathers, especially on the wings. The adult female Common Eider is dark-brown with a paler brown crown and neck.
