What happens to white fur in the summer months?

In the summer months, white fur can often turn a pale yellow or light brown. This is because white fur is made up of hollow hairs that are filled with air. As the air inside the hairs heats up in the sun, it expands and causes the hairs to become thinner and more transparent. This allows the colour of the skin underneath the fur to show through, making the fur appear yellow or brown.
