Dogs do not get pregnant by getting stuck. Pregnancy occurs when a sperm cell fertilizes an egg cell. For this to happen, the male dog must mount the female dog and insert his penis into her vagina. Ejaculation then occurs, releasing sperm cells into the female's reproductive tract. These sperm cells can then travel to the fallopian tubes and fertilize any eggs that are present.
