Can a dog that has been spayed still go into heat?

Spaying, also known as ovariohysterectomy, is a surgical procedure in which the ovaries and usually the uterus are removed from a female animal.

After spaying, a dog will no longer produce the hormones that trigger heat cycles, so she will not go into heat again.
