Where do animals go to the bathroom?

Animals go to the bathroom in a variety of places, depending on their species. Some animals, such as cats and dogs, are trained to use litter boxes or go outside to do their business. Others, such as horses and cows, simply defecate wherever they are standing. Birds typically defecate while they are flying, and many marine animals do the same thing in the water.
