Why is pandas skin pink?

Giant pandas have black and white fur, not pink skin. In fact, their skin is actually black. The fur around the eyes, ears, and limbs is white, while the rest of the body is black. This coloration is thought to help them camouflage themselves in their natural environment of bamboo forests.
