Did Queen Elizabeth I have a pet?

Queen Elizabeth I did have several pets. She was particularly fond of dogs and had a number of them throughout her life. Her favorite dog was a small spaniel named Dash, who was said to have been her constant companion. Elizabeth also kept several other types of pets, including monkeys, parrots, and cats.
