Why kangaroos live in the desert?

Kangaroos do not live in deserts. They primarily inhabit the open plains, woodlands, and scrublands of Australia. Some species, like the red kangaroo and the western grey kangaroo, can be found in arid environments, but they do not exclusively reside in deserts.
