How old are monkeys when they leave there mother and father?

Monkeys typically stay with their mothers until they are around two years old. During this time, the mother teaches them how to forage, climb trees, and how to behave in a social group. Once the monkey is two years old, it will leave its mother and father and may either join another group or form a new one.
