Why is the Brydes whale endangered?

The Bryde's whale (Balaenoptera brydei) is not considered endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Its conservation status is listed as "Least Concern". However, some populations may be locally depleted due to past commercial whaling and ongoing threats from bycatch, pollution, and habitat degradation.
