Was shadow the hedgehog ever a baby?

In the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series, Shadow the Hedgehog is portrayed as a perpetually young anthropomorphic hedgehog. Shadow is an artificially created "Ultimate Life Form" and appears to be ageless.
