How long do woodchuck babies stay with mother?

Woodchuck babies, called kits, stay with their mother for around 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, the mother teaches them essential survival skills, like foraging for food, building burrows, and recognizing predators.

After this period, the young woodchucks disperse and become independent.
