Wood stork babies, known as chicks, hatch from their eggs at around 2.5 to 3.5 inches (6.4 to 9 centimeters) in length. They weigh approximately 1.5 to 2 ounces (42.5 to 57 grams) at birth.
As they continue to grow and thrive under proper conditions like food availability and care from their parents, these chicks rapidly develop and increase in size.
