There are five species of rhinoceros found in Africa:
* White rhinoceros (two subspecies: southern white rhinoceros and northern white rhinoceros)
* Black rhinoceros (four subspecies: eastern black rhinoceros, western black rhinoceros, southern black rhinoceros, and central black rhinoceros)
They are known for their thick skin, large size, and the one or two horns on their noses.
