Do cows have fur or hide?

Cows have hide, which is the tough, outer layer of skin that covers their bodies.

While "fur" is often used to describe the hair of mammals, it's not technically correct for cows. Here's why:

* Fur is generally used to describe the soft, dense hair of animals like rabbits or foxes.

* Hide is specifically used for the skin of larger animals, especially those used for leather production.

So, while cows have hair, it's more accurate to refer to their outer skin covering as hide.
