Why are animals a part of physical geography?

Animals are not usually considered to be a part of physical geography although physical geography does focus on certain organisms to a limited extent, most notably humans through the subfield of human geography. Animals themselves are more typically regarded as falling under the domain of biological sciences such as ecology and behavior which focus specifically on living creatures.
