How do cows stand up?

Cows are large animals with four legs. To stand up, they put their weight on their back legs and push off with their front legs. This action levers their body up until they are standing upright. Cows are able to stand up very quickly, even from a lying down position. This is important for escape from predators or for getting to food or water.
