What shrubs does pika eat?

Pika mainly consume graminoids (grasses and sedges) during summer, and shrubs in the winter. Forbs and mosses are also consumed when they are available. During the winter, pika have been known to eat willows (Salix spp.), sagebrush, and snowberry. Several studies showed that _Artemisia tridentata_, _Cercocarpus ledifolius_, _Chrysothamnus nauseosus_, _Ericameria nauseosa_, _Purshia tridentata_ among others, are common choices of shrubs for pikas.
