Are there wild ferrets in Ontario?

There are no wild ferrets in Ontario. Ferrets are native to Europe, Africa, and Asia. They were introduced to North America by European settlers as a means of controlling rodent populations. In Ontario, ferrets are considered to be an invasive species and are not protected by law.
