Do spade or neutered ferrets have genders?

Spaying and neutering refer to the surgical removal of ovaries and uterus in female animals, and testes in male animals. This sterilization procedure does not alter the internal sex of an animal, so a neutered or spayed ferret will still identify as male or female and retain their gender identity.
