The term "palomino" refers to a color, not a breed. Palomino horses can be of any breed.
It is possible for a pony to be palomino, but it wouldn't be a "palomino pony" any more than it would be a "bay pony" or a "black pony." The palomino color is simply a description of the horse's coat.
