Who named the horse breed Morgan?

The Morgan horse breed was named after Justin Morgan, a Vermont farmer who owned the stallion that is considered the breed's foundation sire.

While the horse's original name was "Figure," it became widely known as "Justin Morgan's horse" and eventually simply "Morgan," after its owner.
