What is the Okarito brown habitat?

Okarito Lagoon/Kiwi Sanctuary lies north of the town of Okarito on the south Westland coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is surrounded by subtropical rainforest, and is an important habitat for wildlife, including the endangered brown kiwi. The sanctuary is part of the Westland Tai Poutini National Park.
