Why do sharks fight each other to get food?

While it's true that sharks compete for food, the notion of them engaging in fights is not entirely accurate. Sharks generally avoid direct confrontation and adopt strategies like scavenging, stealth hunting, and displacement to secure food. They exhibit dominance hierarchies, but these are usually established through displays, body posturing, and ritualised behaviour rather than physical violence.
