Why are red macaws extinct?

Red macaws are not extinct. In fact, they are classified as "least concern" by the IUCN Red List, meaning that they are not currently at risk of extinction. They are found in tropical forests in Central and South America, and their population is estimated to be around 1.5 million individuals.
