Why did fish evolve into four legged vertebrates?

Fish did not evolve into four-legged vertebrates. Vertebrates evolved from a common ancestor that lived in the ocean. Over time, some of these vertebrates adapted to live on land, and they evolved into four-legged vertebrates. Fish are still around today, and they have not evolved into four-legged vertebrates.
