When did the whale become endangered?

While many whale species are endangered now, there is no single year in which all whales became endangered. Different whale species became endangered at different times for a variety of reasons, such as overhunting, habitat loss, climate change, pollution, bycatch, ship strikes, entanglement in fishing gear, noise pollution, etc.
