How often per year do humans get atacked by sharks?

On an average, there are around 80 unprovoked shark attacks on humans per year. However, this number can fluctuate greatly from year to year and there have been some years with as few as 40 attacks and others with over 100. The majority of these attacks occur in the United States, with Hawaii and California being the most common locations.
