Do rainbow sharks need a bigger tank to grow?

Rainbow sharks (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum) do not need a bigger tank to grow. They typically reach their full size, which is usually around 6 inches (15.2 cm) in length, regardless of the size of their tank. However, they do need a tank that is at least 30 gallons (113.6 L) in order to be happy and healthy. This is because they are active fish that need plenty of space to swim around. They also need a tank that is well-filtered and has a good amount of hiding places.
