The megalodon shark is bigger than the whale shark. The megalodon shark is estimated to have reached a maximum length of around 18 metres (59 ft), while the largest whale shark on record was measured at 12.65 metres (41.5 ft). Thus the megalodon is the biggest fish ever lived on earth.
