How many silver sharks are left in its species?

There are approximately 2000 adult silver sharks left in the wild. In 2008, the silver shark was assessed by the IUCN Red List as "critically endangered". The population has declined by more than 80% in the last 30 years due to overfishing, pollution, and habitat destruction.
