How many tentacles that starfish have?

A starfish can have anywhere between five and forty arms, or tentacles, depending on the species. The most common number of arms is five, but some starfish can have as many as forty or even more. The number of arms is not usually related to the size of the starfish, as some of the smallest starfish can have more arms than some of the largest.
