What is the age of oldest rocks?

The oldest known rocks on Earth are about 4.02 billion years old. These rocks, found in the Jack Hills of Western Australia, are called zircon crystals.

While it's difficult to pinpoint the exact age of the Earth, scientists estimate it to be around 4.54 billion years old. This means the oldest rocks we've found are just a bit younger than the planet itself.
