What do tadpoles use to get the air?

Tadpoles are the larval stages of amphibians, such as frogs and toads. They live in water and breathe using their gills, just like fish. As they grow and develop, tadpoles will eventually undergo a process called metamorphosis, during which they will lose their gills and develop lungs. This allows them to breathe air and live on land.
