How big is a mallard?

Mallards vary in size depending on their sex and location, but on average they are:

* Length: 50-65 cm (20-26 in)

* Wingspan: 85-95 cm (33-37 in)

* Weight: 0.6-1.6 kg (1.3-3.5 lbs)

Males (drakes) are generally larger than females (hens). Mallards in North America tend to be larger than mallards in Europe and Asia.
