How many budgies in one average cage?

An average budgie cage should house no more than 2 budgies. If the cage is particularly large, it may have space for 3 budgies. However, it is not advisable to keep more than 3 budgies in a single cage, as this can lead to overcrowding, stress and tension among the birds.
