Where are pandas?

Pandas are mostly found in the remote mountainous areas of central China. The majority of the wild population lives in the provinces of Sichuan and Shaanxi, with smaller groups in Gansu and Chongqing. Pandas prefer temperate, humid forests with an abundance of bamboo, which is their primary food source. They inhabit areas with altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 meters (4,900 to 9,800 feet) above sea level.
