How many malayan sun bears are left in the world?

The Malayan sun bear is found in Thailand, peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo. There are fewer than 10,000 adults left in the wild, and their populations are declining due to excessive and unselective logging, forest fires and poaching for their gallbladders, meat and fur.
