Where did the anthropoids evolve?

Anthropoids, which include humans and their closest relatives, are believed to have evolved in Africa. The earliest known anthropoid fossils have been found in Egypt and date back to around 40 million years ago. These fossils suggest that anthropoids originated in Africa and then spread to other parts of the world.
