What is the rarest woodpecker?

The Ivory-billed Woodpecker is considered to be the most extremely rare woodpecker in the world. Declared by some scientists as extinct, an alleged sighting of possibly as few as one bird was reported in the Cache River watershed of Arkansas County in eastern Arkansas in 2004, but this has never been confirmed. The last definite sighting was in 1944.
