Can a snail have baby snails by it self?

Most snail species are hermaphrodites, which means they have both male and female reproductive organs. Snails can reproduce asexually, fertilizing their eggs without mating with another snail. This process is called self-fertilization. However, some species of snails require mating with another snail to reproduce successfully.
