How long can baby moles live without their mother?

Moles are born blind, helpless, hairless, and only about two inches long. They rely completely on their mother's milk and heat for survival. Their mother will typically wean them at around 2 months old, but they will continue to live in the nest with her for another month or two. After this time, they will leave the nest and begin their solitary lives.
