How did scientists find the baby mammoth?

The baby mammoth, named Lyuba, was found in May 2007 along the bank of the Yuribei River by reindeer herder Yuri Khudi. Khudi found Lyuba’s partially exposed head along an eroding riverbank when a large block of ice calved.
